Factoria von Igel was founded in 2022 by Brazilian-German designer Maximilian von Igel (1994, São Paulo). Through his work, he explores the value of the free working hand in an industrial age.

In a world where objects come in abundance, as a creator, it became hard to understand what forms this immersive reality around. Through practicing the most diverse production techniques and experimenting with the machine and its capacities, Von Igel created a collection in which unusual ways of manufacturing get explored.

Maximilian Von Igel studied at the Furniture Design department of the Royal Academy of Art from 2016 until his graduation in 2020. His work 'Technicus Cabinetus' was previously on display during the SHOWCASE exhibition at the Heden Gallery in The Hague. This is an ever-changing exhibition supporting a selection of young artists. Von Igel's work 'Technicus Cabinetus' was paired with the metal artwork 'T12.001' by artist Frank Ammerlaan.
